Similarities between The Matrix and The Lego Movie.
- Locations: 2 worlds in The Matrix, 2 worlds in The Lego Movie. Only one real. The Matrix
- Characters: Big evil robots attacking. A "special" hero with the ability to make whatever he wants to happen, happen (Neo and Emmet). A tough girl character who likes the hero (Trinity and Wyldstyle). The older, wiser, man who knows all the answers (Morpheus and Vitruvius).
- Themes/messages: The heroes must "die" near the end of the movie before they are the true hero, where Emmet dies and so does Neo. Neo means "new".
- Narrative: Neo and Emmet don't believe they are the "chosen one". But when going around with the people that believe they are, they end up becoming the "chosen one".
Evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of the intertextuality relationship between "The Matrix" and "The Lego Movie".

- The Matrix is 20 years old. it is a film specifically for older people. Whereas the lego movie is a cartoon remake for younger children to understand.
Disadvantages:
- Younger people don't understand the storyline.
- Adults might not understand the references.
